As an English Language teacher I spend much of my time trying to promote the English language. I promote this in schools, colleges and in the summer school holidays I travel around the world promoting English language and teaching to schools in France and Germany. I have quite a hectic life and usually promote this out of school hours and in holidays, leaving little spare time for me to do other activities such as swimming and rock climbing.
I decided that the way forward was, to set up a website about my work. I felt that trying a different tact might give me more awareness, and I knew that I was more likely to be found on the internet than anywhere else. I approached a company that specialised in website design to create my website, I gave them all the relevant information, plus the companies, schools and colleges for which I worked previously. I had good references put on there and an example of the work I did.
When my website was finished it was put onto a search engine, it was unfortunate that at this point my site was only ranked as fifty seven on the search engine, and was therefore not being found by many people. I knew that if I wanted a greater awareness I would have to get my website into the top seven or eight on the search engine.

I had heard from various people that there were companies that specialised in Search Engine marketing, these are companies whom seek to promote websites by increasing there visibility in the result pages of the search engines.
I approached a company who specialised in Search Engine Marketing as well as online marketing, they advised me on the best way in which to get my website to the top of the search engine. I took on board all of their advice. Within months of using this company my website was in the top twenty on the search engine, and I was receiving more hits than ever, but I knew I had to give my company that final push to get it to the top of the search engine. I paid the company once more to make my website more visible to anyone searching. It took another month and my website reached number two on the search engine.
Since this time I have had an overwhelming response from schools, colleges and companies both in England and overseas. Being able to promote my work via the internet has truly been a life changing experience, now in my spare time I can do my swimming, rock climbing and socialising without it affecting my work. Having the time to do things other than work, has had a huge impact in the quality of work that I am sending out.
